Happening Saturday May 13 and Sunday May 14 at the NRG Center, the 7th annual Houston Pet Expo brings plenty of entertainment and activities as well as tons of exhibitors, prizes giveaways and more. Here are five reasons why you should consider attending this year.
1. Pets Are Welcome
Well-behaved, non-aggressive pets are welcome to the expo. During the event pet owners can stop by one of the free nail trimming stations or take advantage of the discounted vaccinations, heartworm and flea preventatives and microchipping. As a note, all pets must be up to date on their vaccinations must be up to date.
The two-day event will have no shortage of family-friendly entertainment. Does your pet have a skill or talent? Enter him or her in the pet talent contest. There will also be a pet costume contest, lure chasing and a pet and owner game of musical chairs. Get in on the action and remember to have fun.

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering and making a difference in your community and in the lives of the animals here, you can learn how to get involved at the expo. Throughout the day there will be a number of resources to take home and plenty of people with real experience to talk to about volunteerism and making a difference in animals lives.
